Turn 6.
The Gray Hunters, having chosen to consolidate into a solid defensive line after the last close combat, take careful aim and shoot down two of the retreating orks. Next to them, the Long Fangs move up into better firing positions.
Biterolf carefully aims his autocannon, and lets fly at the last remaining ork walker, however this time smoke from the burning wrecks throws off his aim, and the machine goes unscathed.
The
lone trukka scurries back over the wreckage to the relative safety of
the ork side of the bridge, just as the last Kan manages to un-entangle
itself from the debris, and marches forward towards the 'umies.
Close behind it the sluggas start to pour onto the bridge as they seek
a path through the carnage.
With a woooosh two more rokkits jet out from the shoota boyz, one of them corkscrewing lazily though the air, the other as straight as an unbroken nose, it smashes straight into the human dreadnought. With a whir, Biterolf spins his torso rapidly and manages to turn a certain killing blow into a mere scratch, not enough to do any real harm, but stunning the dreadnought for a few moments.
Back on the
bridge, the Kan emerges from the smoke, its big shoota spewing flame and
smoke, but it is unable to find a soft target. The machine lurches
forward, and manages to kill both Fenresian Wolves in a single blow, their
coarse fur coat no match for the Kan's whirling buzz saw.
