- updated 13 November 2005 - Why have just one Gargant?
One of the few models that I have which is not of my own design or manufactuing, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase another gargant this from my mate Krooza when he put it up for sale. Instead of being ashamed to field a model that's not my own, I'm proud to have another masterpiece of his in my collection.
Goobaz'Gant, as its known in Konviktz Kanyon, survived it's first contact with the enemy at da Beast & Da Builder mega battle.
The upper soopa-lifta arm was broken in transit, a lot to do with the weight of the device. Gooba started by adding internal re-inforcements to its housing. |
And some heavier beams on the outside to tie the structure together. |
Secondary weaponry came next, as two twin linked big shoota shoulder turrets were made. |
Gooba added some more re-inforcements to the lifta arm area, and you can see how easily it holds the 4+ pound weight of the magnet. |
In order to build up the shoulders, but still keep the machine's profile, open railing were added; with big shoota pintal mounts. |
On the other side, I'm looking at this area for another kannon..... |
And here it is with railings, and access ladders in place. |
This gun shield is a cut down dozer blade. |
Ah, gooba takin' the old gant out for a spin! |
After a bit of effort, we started riviting. This is a mammoth job. you might notice that the upper railings have also had additional vertical supports put in. |
Next up was the convertible top. Yup, a convertible! |
Gooba cruisin' with the top down! |
Next up was adding a central skorcha for those pesty infantry. |
lots of rivits |
even the feet have tons of rivits! |
With the soopa lifta droppa in place.
And after the first round of painting.
And after the second round of painting.. At this stage the model was ready for the field!
This weapon tore up all sorts of imperial armor at da Beast and da Builder Mega Battle.
