Turn 3: Eldar
In
retaliation for the mauling of the Warp Spiders and the Dire Avengers,
Farseer Joncleav focuses his energy, and redirects the Eldar.
A fresh Dire Avenger squad moves up in support of Storm Dancer, the fearsome wraithlord construct, as it heads towards the trukkerz.
The
Wave Serpent soars over the trees, popping down in front of the slugga
boyz and unloads its compliment of storm guardians.
The storm guardians, with supporting
fire of the twin linked shiruken cannons from the wave serpent, cut deeply
into the slugga boyz, felling eight, but still not enough to slow the
mob down.
After
a vicious round of shooting that included the two vypers, the storm guardians
assault the remaining slugga boyz on much more even turns, felling two
more, and only loosing one storm guardian in return. A full 17 sluggaz
were eliminated this turn. Damn those 30 model ork mobs!
The
Wraithlord, Storm Dancer rips into the remaining trukkboyz, destroying
their vehicle and smashing the nob to little green bitz. The remainder
of the mob is wiped out by the remaining guardian defender squad.
Joncleav
casts guide on the Falcon, which, having not moved, unloads its entire
compliment of weaponry into the Warboss and his boyz.
When added to the shiruken
fire of the scorpians, only the Warboss and two nobs remain from the once
strong 10 ork unit...
The
scorpions assault the remaining three orks, and despite loosing their
exarch to the crushing choppa of the warboss, the entire ork headquarters
unit is eliminated.
The
Scorpions consolidate and await their fate.
Turn 3: Orks
This
is it. We ran out of real time, so the battle was cut short here. As the
scorpions and the 'ard boyz were both within claiming territory of the
obelisk, we called it a draw, but a moral victory for the eldar after
the last round of vicious shooting and hand to hand combat.
Don't worry sports fanz - the orks are anything but easily defeated, and they will be back, so stay tuned.....
