Warboss Bobz Killa Konviktz vs Ultramarines

1500 pt lists, Secure and Control, alpha level.(Triple Play Fall 40k League).

Game Setup:
We packed one quarter of the table with terrain, and took turn distributing it across the table. We ended up with five objectives, and placed them around. He won table quarter, and chose his side, and began deploying first.

Da boyz deployed

Sadly, for me, he got first turn….

Turn 1: The killa kanz felt the wraith of the incoming fire; sucking up four autocannon shots, two missile shots, and a multimelta shot, resulting in one destroyed kan and two stunned and immobile. The dreadnought was also stunned by a missile from his right most tac squad, but fortunately the hunter killer missile missed the russ completely. His whirlwind, however, popped right down and killed 3 sluggaz in the right most squad.

Payback time! The twin linked buggy moved up, and raked fire into his chaplain led assault squad, killing one. Big shoota fire continued to pummel his lines, and the land speeder exploded from concentrated fire. The other shoota squad fired off at the advancing terminators, and managed to wound two with plain old shoota fire! With glee, the boyz fired off a few extra rounds, as both of the wounds hit true, as my opponent rolled two ones for his armor saves!!!

Finally, with a KRASH the battle kannon fired, and the large shell slammed into his fully loaded rhino. The vehicle was liquidated, but 9 beakies made it out alive, but were pinned.

Turn 2: his jump pack troops moved back to his table edge, behind a building for cover. The terminators advanced, and shredded a few more slugga boyz. His tac squad that could put another missile into the dread, stunning it again. The land raider also shot up the same slugga squad, causing a break check. Finally his whirlwind popped down on the other slugga squad, and killed one boy.

Ork big shoota and shoota, and rokkit fire pummeled the terminators, but no wounds this time. The Russ, once again, let loose a battle kannon round that killed seven of the nine pinned beakies, causing the last two to simply flee the battlefield.

Turn 3. He actually moved his jump troops forward again, and blew up the big shoota buggy with a plasma gun shot. The terminators moved into cover, and once again ripped into the sluggaz, killing a few more. His land raider took shots at the lemen russ, and the las cannons bounced harmlessly off the front armor. His formally stationary tac squad moved forward towards an objective, and his whirlwind somehow missed the 18 strong slugga boy squad. Shooting from the tac squad destroyed a rokkit buggy though.

Once again the boys let loose with a torrent of fire, which did little. The termies shrugged off incoming rounds, and a couple of “what-if” rokkits from the buggies missed completely. We were able to pick off the power fist wielding jump pack beakie, as he was the only one in within range of our guns!!! The lemen russ moved forward, and hit the land raider, to no effect.

Turn 4: His jump pack troops moved in and charged the sluggas on the left.

The terminators adjusted their fire, and let loose at the shoota boyz that were working their way through a ruined building, killing two. The land raider fired off at the other mob of sluggaz, cutting the mob down to four models, who, after making a cover save from a krak missle launched by the last tac squad, decided to beet feet, and fell back towards the shoota boyz. The whirlwind decided to finally take a shot at the grots who were sitting on one objective, but the whirlwind was out of range and unable to hit anything!

His assault went poorly – due to terrain and distance, only his IC and one beakie got into hand to hand, and between the two of them, hitting on 3’s and with re-rolls (chaplain rules), killed only two sluggaz.

Two other sluggaz got their whacks back, and put three wounds back, hitting the chaplain once, and removing two assault Beakies.

He lost, and as the chaplain was fearless, stuck in. But he was outnumbered 4-1 (well, actually more like 6-1), and had to take three more saves from auto wounds. Well, he rolled a

Wow. What a powerful character! winkingOrk.gif My sluggaz were sooooooo scared! laughingOrk.gif Now howz dat for propa, ya weedy hamfisted goff!!! cheers.gif

The konviktz retaliated by moving up the skorcha buggy, and slow roasted two beakies in the full tac squad. Combined shoota fire took down another terminator, and this time they broke, and fell back a full 12 inches. The dread and bob advanced on the land raider, the dread missing horribly. The battle cannon roared, this time smooshing 5 of the tac squad Beakies into harmless ultramarine goo.

Turns 5 and 6: It was a pretty similar tale He forced the slugga boy mob off the field (the one with 4 models left, as they couldn’t mob up), his whirlwind missing both turns. The termies did rally, but way back on their table edge. His tac squad took a big shoota shot in the face from the grot slaver, and finally broke and ran.

Bob, in a last minute attempt at securing a new birthday gift for Gooba, charged the land raider but failed to damage it. (just a stun)

Game over. Of the 5 objectives, three were owned by the konviktz, one was contested, and one unheld.

Orks win!!!
