Warboss Bobz Killa Konviktz vs Necrons
1500 pt lists, Take and Hold, alpha level.(Triple Play Fall 40k League).
Game Setup:
Well this was the game I was a bit concerned about, as Tin'ead J is a fields not onlyl a tough army, but he's pretty saavy as well. We played in Konviktz Kanyon, but despite having home turf advantage, it insn't always that. One of us, not having to drive, often has a fungus brew or two
, much to his detriment!!
The battle field.....
we filled a table quarter with terrain, and took turn spreading it out.
I won table quarter, and decided to let the dice decide my deployment. I ended up on the left side, and deployed first

Sacrilege! metal boyz in Goobaz mekshop!!!
Turn 1:
Da weedy zogger got first turn, and used it to his benefit. His scarabs zoomed out at almost full speed, well enough to gain a invulnerable save. Fortuantely for me, one of his two 4 tin'ead destroyer squads tried for higher ground, and two of them crashed on landing!
Tin'ead shootin' stunned and immoblized the lemen russ, taking it out of the fight for the next turn. Due to his short range, there wasn't a lot of firing; just the russ and a few dead slugga boyz, as well as a few grots.
My turn to go, and the dread stomped out, I swung the buggies out to fire, and moved the skorcha trakk up on the rightt side behind some woods. The kans moved into another group of woods for cover.
Shooting found one more destroyer in the crashed unit down, and two others in the other destroyer squad. The crashed unit destroyer broke and fled....
The dreadnought charged the scarabs, and slew two bases in h2h, making a very nice and large roadblock on that side of the table.
being unbreakable, they stuck in, of course.
Turn 2:
The zogger made is regroup roll for the singular destroyer, but failed all three get up'z for the rest of the squad
. Sadly, the other destroyer squad that had been reduced to two, all got back up...
His warriors moved, and had no shots, but the Destroyers shredded the two tiwin linked buggy squardon, destroying one and ripping the weapon and stunning the other.
My turn, and I moved the skorcha buggy up to roast the nearest metal boy squad.
The kanz moved to provide some supporting fire, and other mobz advanced up field.
Fire this turn found the lemen russ krushing four with the batle cannon, and the skorcha knocked down one - and that was it. Ouch. Brace for impact! The dreadnought continued smashing scarabs with it's fist...
Turn 3
His destroyers moved over the hill for a side shot on the twin linked BS buggy...and his other squad moved up to rapid fire the skorcha trakk. His singular destroyer model failed its all alone roll, and fled off the table...
The destroyers shredded the buggy, destroying the weapon and shaking the crew.
20 gauss rapid fire shots smoked the skorcha trakk, and other fire killed five grots, causing them to go to ground...
The fungus brew hit me here, as I banked my tactics on getting a couple of charges off. I was so convinced of this, that I actually failed to move the dreadnought, meaning that charge (which was one of the two I needed) would not happen. DoH!!! And if I had only reached those destroyers...
I also forgot!!!! to fire the Russ!! Tin'ead J got a free turn this time!
Konviktz shooting did little, but most importantly the shot up slugga mob was able to get a charge off over difficult terrain!!!
I was feeling pretty confident, 2 slugga boyz, 3 more with rokkits, and a pklaw nob vs 10 tin'eadz! Woe to me!! The tinhedz kiled one more than my pathetic goff mob, and we lost - but hung in due to numbers alone.
Turn 4
the destroyers moved back, and another warrior squad with a lord charged the engaged sluggaz. The dread had a powerklaw ripped of and was stunned from destroyer fire, and the hut piled on the sluggaz. After the lord, and 29 necron attacks, six more sluggaz died, to only 4 killed in return (the powerklaw nob was a complete loss!!!)
I move the weaponless buggies around to cover them (they still count as scoring units), and rally the grots! Forward!
The grots and Bob advance, but only the grots get into charge range. The lemen russ fires and takes down one destroyer, causing them to break and flee. I begin shifting shoota boyz, and the kanz back towards the objective (being take and hold, after all).
The grots get their charge, and manage to kill 2 necrons, while the sluggaz kill two more!
We still loose the combat by one, and the sluggaz break and run - the beat up squad of warriors run them down...butt the grots tie up the other over 50% mob of warrirors and lord.
Turn 5
He rally's his destroyers, and his 'kronz move back, away form the now moble dreanought. Shooting causes a few wounds, but does litle over all damage. The now four 'bot squad fires at Bob, wounds twice, but their gauss rounds bounce harmlessly off his Gooba crafted armor. The other full Warror squad fires at Bob as well, with simular results.
Close combat see the lord and the warrior squad smacking down on the grots, killing 5 - but the zogging grots kill 2 back!!! Despite loosing, the grots stand fast!!!
Knowing I have no chance of getting into h2h, the sluggaz and shootas shuflfle in the woods,, keeping to cover but still near the objective.
Bob blows into combat to support the grots, and the rest of the Konviktz shift towards the objective. I, again, forget to fire the russ.
The dreadnought charges forward, and hits a full warrior squd, killing two, but they stick in.
Bob holds out, and uses the klaw - he takes two wounds, and shruggs them both off. In return, he
two 'crons, but they kill four more grots...Both Bob and the grots stick in!
Turn 6
Attrition...
The crons move forward to rapid fire, but a series of horrible terrain rolls leaves them short....fireing takes down a shoota boy mob to just one model above 50%, and than its close combat time..
The dread kills 2 more tin'eadz, and his other squad kills off 4 grots - but bob and the grots manage to kill 3 in return. Once again, both bob, and now the lone slaver, tough it out!!! Defskull Grots are hard as nails!!!
Konviktz shooting finally destoroys the destroyers, killing the last two.
The kanz shuffle up, shoot, and kill one more warior in h2h.
In the grand finale, Bob uses his klaw, and lets the weedy lord take swings at him first - three swings, two hits, one wound on poor old Bob...
Two poweklaw swings back, and that lord, orb or no orb, was a large pile of mush on the table top.
Game over.
The konvitkz have 9 scoring units within 12 inches of the objective, Tin'ead J two.
Now that's a pretty large swing, but it should be mentioned that I started with 15, and him 5; meaning he had an uphill battle.
He's a tough opponent, I must learn to stop making mistakes against him!!!
