Space Marines vs. Eldar
Turn 2:
Tactical
Squad Alpha unload and spread out from their immobilized rhino, its track splayed
uselessly behind it. In front of them is what could be the artifact, but only
closer examination will tell for sure. Aware of this, but more aware of
the approaching vypers, the unit opens up - the hunter seeker missile atop the
rhino downing one alien jet bike, and the plasma pistol of Sergeant Eben damaging
another.
Behind
Beta Squad, who has now loaded back into their rhino, Cloud (Scarpian Kahn and
his unit in a razorback), lightening I ) attack bike), and the tornado arrive
in support of the tactical marines. In the ruins, the scouts find a better
spot to bring their weaponry to bear. Two of the scouts who can open fire, one's
sniper rifle missing horribly, but the heavy bolter finds its mark, and drops
two of the storm squad guardians.
The
arriving units fan out, the speeder arcing gracefully over a ridge line, the
Eldar Grav tank squarely in its sights. Alas the Space Marine ground vehicles
are not as fortunate, the attack bike crashing in the rough terrain, and only
the dozer blade on the rhino saving it from a similar fate. The Tornado
carefully takes aim, and its multimelta cuts through the tough armor of the
alien grav tank with ease, causing the vehicle to crash to the ground. Behind them, the las cannon on the command razor back opens fire, and accounts
for another vyper, smashing the already damaged vehicle to the ground.
One
of their number failing to escape the wreck of the Falcon, the Dire Avengers
inside bail out and prepare their response. A hail of accurate shiruken catapult
fire screams across the battlefield, killing the multimelta gunner on the space
marine landspeeder. Undaunted, the wave serpent moves forward still, countering
the actions of the advancing human tactical squad. The Shiruken cannon
on the vehicle fires, but cannot damage the rhino.
The remainder of Eldar forces continue their advance forward, finding either their weaponry and or terrain hindering their shots.
