Campaign - Surprise At Pearl - Conclusion

Round 2 Orks vs Space Wolves Blitz Winner- Orks!

Notes:

This was a 2000 point battle, Blitz mission straight from the WH40k 3rd edition rule book. This battle was won by just a few victory points; the orks received a 600 point bonus for having troops in the right zone, and lost 150 for the looted russ being in the wrong one. It was touch and go the whole time

Battle Report:

Having taken the airfield control tower, and defeated the IG defenders, the Orks now looked to roll over the rest of the city. Little did they know that Space Wolves Space Marines had deployed to reinforce the lines of the Imperium.
The rumble of ork vehicles could be heard for miles, the overreved engines and clanking treads echoing along the concrete.
Occupying a trench line and bunker, the Imperium's finest stood shoulder to shoulder. Would they be enough?.
Behind the trenches stood their armored might, including a razorback, predator, whirlwind, and a venerable dreadnought.
With the morning sun breaking over their shoulders, the ork vehicles advanced in mass, a bright laser bolt from the razorback turning one battle wagon into a death prior. Unfazed, the heavily armored ork 'ard boyz leapt to safety and continued their advance on foot.
A Space Wolf long fang squad takes casualties, as the ignominy of a looted leman russ battle cannon rips into their position, killing not only troops but their transport rhino as well.
All dressed up, these tankbustaz ride in battlewagon style!
The orks advancing along a broad front, heading straight towards the center bunker.
This quick shift of ork forces led to the remaining trukks getting blasted to bitz as they crossed in front of the Wolf lines.
On the far flank, an ork trukk and wartrakks advance quickly, but their their speed is not enough as Space Wolf fire from the Wolf Guard eliminate the ork vehicles.
Wolf Lord Vincentious carefully measures range.
Ork down! Ork down! This small vehicle charge was quickly ripped apart by combined fire from the Space Wolves. The forceable dismounted trukkboyz in the rear would be soon crispified by a heavy flamer toting Wolf Guard.
Warboss Scarpia writes off another ork unit.
With the bunker and venerable dreadnought destroyed from concentrated fire from a battle wagon and tank bustaz, an the long fang squad eliminated from the near side, the orks shift their assault to take advantage of the gap.
Pouring over the trench line, ork bikes lead the attack.
A Rune priest and blood claws quickly move to close the hole.
"Man the lines! Man the lines!"
No, that land raider was NOT part of this battle; it was placed there for a moment of creative license by the photographer.
From the other side of the table the Long Fangs and Wolf Guard moved to support, but could only watch the ork choppaz rise and fall.
From the rear, blood claw bikes add to the defense.
The bikes attack the advancing 'ard boyz, only to be crushed by their superior numbers. The other blood claws find themselves simultaneously fighting disembarked trukk boyz and the ork bikes, including the warboss himself.
A desperate struggle ensues as the blood claws fight valiantly to stem the green tide, even the razorback is destroyed from a well placed powerklaw
In the end the ork numbers were too many for the Marines, and only the Rune Priest still stands. With the Orks having two units where they needed to be, the imperial defenses collapsed.
