How to use sawdust to base terrain
First off,
get the terrain parts you want attached to the blank base, attached. For
our purposes, this is 1/4 scrap plywood. |
|
Next, brush
on a 50/50 mix of water and glue. I use carpenter's glue, but white glue
(PVA) works just as well. |
|
Once fully
coated with glue, get ready to apply sawdust. In the background you can
see my mix, it's very rough sized, and perfect for my ash waste terrain.
Finer sawdust works well as grass. |
|
I just sprinkle
it on, and than shake off the excess. |
|
Here it is
after one coat. After this is dry, I apply a second coat of glue/water,
and sprinkle on more sawdust. |
|
And how it
looks after the second coat of sawdust and the last final coat of glue/water. |
|
Primed and
ready for painting! |
