April 2011, after the earthquake and Tsunami, we visited a number of places in Japan including Nara.
Nara is the home to many temples, one of the most significant being the Tōdai-ji Temple.
Tōdai-ji Temple is not only the biggest (or one of the biggest) wooden structures in the world, it also houses one of the biggest Buddhas in the world - over 16 meters tall, this cast bronze statue is even more impressive in person.
