One of King Edward's North Welsh castles, Caernarvon is still used today for important royal events, such as the crowning of the Prince of Wales.

Built around 1280, this castle was built in the Caerphilly style, as the site is long and narrow, prohibiting a concentric design.

Caernarvon has one of the largest castle towers in Europe, known as the Eagle Tower. 70 feet in diameter, it is about twice the size of a "normal" large tower.

Public bathrooms are available.
