The Bird Room
The Bird Room measures 11 x 11.
The previous owner had a large cockatoo that lived in this room, and it looked like a large bird lived there. There was still guano and bird bitz when we closed on the house.
In addition to the bird, three of the walls had a stucco fan pattern applied; the fourth wall was dark paneling.
Initially we simply wanted the room clean, as we were to store a number of our belongings in this room until our upstairs renovations were complete. The quickest and most efficient way was a coat of paint, we used a basic ceiling flat white paint applied with a Wagner Powerpainter. Due to the stucco pattern, rolling was not an option and brushwork would have taken days. The Wagner did it (2 coats in some places) in less than 2 hours.
Our future plans call for the removal of the closet (for bathroom expansion), and the removal of the stucco and paneling. We will do that by putting in new sheet rock. Eventually this room will become either a media room, or a spare bedroom, we're not really sure yet.
The shots below group pictures that we took during the remodeling.
