On October 13, 1998 we arrived in Bastogne, where we visited the US war memorial dedicated to the Battle of the Bulge engagement of World War II.
Listing all fifty states, the monument was an impressive thank you to US servicemen from the people of Belgium, including "drivers of trucks" (actual quote off of the monument).
Unfortunately the video camera ran out of battery power here, but we purchased a mug, poster, and a patch from a Vermont unit that served during that action.
A large museum (entrance fee), a small gift shop, and public bathrooms complete the memorial. Open year round.
