This entire bridge/aquaduct was built by the Romans, and built without using mortor - each stone is simply(!) cut perfectly and laid in place. Take a look at the scale of the thing - those are people in the pictures!They STILL drive vehicles over it! The top course was an aquaduct, part of a 30 mile, constant slope water delivery system. Simply amazing. No wonder Rome ran the world for 1,000 years.
