Santa Cruz, California
Santa Cruz proved to be a 30-45 minute drive from San Jose. Santa Cruz is a really fun beach town, with a active "honky-tonk" boardwalk, and a public wharf. We popped out there for dinner two nights, and visited a redwood forest state park. When we finally left San Jose, we came here again, to follow Highway 1 north up and over the Golden Gate bridge.

This tree has been carbon dated. It was a sapling when Christ was born, and they've tracked historical events all the way up to when it was cut down in 1932. (April 2003) | |
