Turn 6:
Fire from the Wolf Priest kills another gretchin, and the remainder scatter to the high winds, once again leaving the Slaver to round them up.
A technical malfunction prohibits the Whirlwind from firing (it was forgotten), not doubt caused by the tragic death of the Iron Priest.
The Leman Russ targets the Bunker, and fires all of its weapons. Only the lascannon manages to penetrate, this time stunning the occupants, prohibiting them from firing.
A plasma shot from the disembarked Gray Hunters glances the Zzap Dragon, also prohibiting the machine from firing.
North
of the road, the Long Fangs turn their heavy weapons against the kanz,
and destroy the first with lascannon fire. A krak missile arcs across
the battlefield and buries itself deep inside the second kan before exploding.
When it does go off, it sets off a tremendous blast that not only decimates
the kan, but kills eleven(!) of the surrounding sluggas, and puts
a wound on the nob. Blinded by the explosion, the heavy bolters only manage
to kill a single additional slugga boy.
The Wolf Guard manage to only shoot down a single 'ard boy, but now the one Guard with the heavy flamer is in position. He pauses as he takes aim, and three additional 'ard boyz become funeral pyres.
In
the close combat, two loonz fall to the Blood Claws, and the assaulting
Wolf Guard kill another one and a nearby 'ard boy.
His
whip crackin', Slapgit the slaver manges to beat the gretchin back into
formation. Next to him the Dreadnought takes careful aim at the Rune Priest,
but is unable to move far enough in the soft ground to engage the Space
Wolf (rolled two 1s for movement!) The gretchin advance in a firing line,
and again their blastas ring out but they are unable to hit anything.
Screaming wildly, they charge the Rune Priest, determined to overcome
him with numbers. Alas, it was not to be, as 4 gits die to the Priests
defense. The gits break finally, and run back despite Slapgits protestations.
Zogger,
driving Warboss Bob's trukk, finds the roadway blocked with wreckage and
so heads cross country, blasting over the trench work. Bob smacks him
to go faster, in order to get into assault range with the Gray Hunters,
but the turbo boosta on the 'eavy chevy works too well, propelling the
trukk forward another 6 inches! As Bob and his boys hang on for dear life,
they are unable to either disembark or shoot! Another unit negated!.
In
a massive swirling melee, the remaining kan and a few 'ard boyz make it
into hand to hand combat with the Space wolves. Two more wounds on the
loonz leave a single loon left, and the 'ard boy nob goes down under
Space Wolf weapons, another 'ard boy to his left falling as well. The
remaining loon takes careful aim and splits the armor of the Blood Claw
Sergeant, killing that veteran warrior.
The
kan that made it rips into a Wolf Guard, finally killing one of these
indomitable warriors. A final two more 'ard boyz fall to the power
fist and chain fists of the Guard
