Operation Patch

Mission: R.1. Strongpoint

Turn 2:

The Gray hunters disembark from their immobilized transport, and form a firing line directly opposite the ork stikkbommas. Behind them, the Wolf guard  advance slowly (rolled a 2 for movement). As they advance, the Wolf Guard shoots down two more stikkbommas, and the Gray Hunters account for another four in a hail of bolter fire.

Despite their horrific shooting losses, the Stikkbommas decide to stick it out, and find them selves quickly eliminated by the assaulting Grey Hunters..

The dreadnought Biterolf, and the Wolf  and Iron Preists , continue their implacable advance, yet the Blood Claws sit idle under the cover of a large group of trees.

Biterolf fires his assault cannon at the approaching ork wartrukk, but the shells bounc harmlessly off, the extra armor on the trukk  shrugging off the armor piercing slugs. Angered, the Wolf Priest takes careful aim and downs a burna boy behind the sandbags.

Commands are given, and the Whirlwind fires another barrage at the approaching Warboss, but misses by a wide margin.  Unfortunately for the orks, the rockets fired do land on something – in this case inside the sandbag emplacement protecting the shoota boyz! With a great CRUMP the emplacement  erupts in a fountain of dirt, blood, and body parts.  As the smoke clears, not a single shoota boy is left intact.  The mob is eliminated. All of them! ACK!

Back on the road way, reserves arrive  in the form of – two warbuggies and one wartrakk that show up on the paved highway.

Bob smacks his driver Zogger in the head and the driver guns the engine, careening the 'eavy Chevy over the landscape at an insane speed. Smacking him again, Bob orders Zogger to veer to the left give his boyz a clear shot at the whirlwind. Before anyone else can get a shot off, Dunzog the gunna fires his rokkit again, and again it flies true, knocking out the weapon on the whirlwind. WAAAAGH!

The warbuggies and trakk chase after bob, making it to the edge of the encampment. They fire wildly at the Space Wolf bikers and manage to miss horribly.

Behind them, the Burna boyz, still unsure of the situation. continue to shuffle around nervously (rolled two 1's for movement!)

On the south side of the battlefield, the Klunkaz are the only ork unit left with the exception of the bunker, and they move behind it bunker to engage the Gray Hunters. After a flurry of shooting, one Gray Hunter is killed by  heavy shoota fire

Back on the north side of the battle field, Bob and his  boyz disembark and assault both the the Iron Priest and venerable dreadnought. A fumbling assault (Scarpia screwed up the dice rolls for Bob and had to forfeit them) results in the death of the Iron Priest but at a high cost - three nobz go down as well.
