Day 6, March 8, 2003

Saturday brought a day full of visitors! Ma and Pa Garbo came down to help, as well as my friend Peter from the office. Perhaps the best visit was from a couple of our neighbors, who stopped by to say hello and check out the work. Speaking of which, take a look.

The wallpaper removal Calvary arrived!

We pulled off the cabinet doors in the kitchen.

And ripped out the old linoleum underneath.
Everything got hit with a coat of paint. (everyone loves the plumber butt!)
Remember this old dark kitchen?
Well this is how it looks now. We put the first coat of wall paint on, and a second coat of primer on the cabinets. The doors are in the basement, where Peter sanded them, and they are drying with their first coat of primer. Quite the difference, no?
Ah, the wallpaper fiasco. Karen is back and hard at work on the walls, this time with some help. Ma Garbo took a swing at it...
As did Pa Garbo, who kicked some major butt on the wallpaper walls.
Outside Peter took apart the kitchen doors, and gave them a quick sanding.
Your favorite renovator priming the doors.

Would you believe that with all the help (such as Peter), Karen is almost done? We're hoping to be able to fill and sand the walls no later than Monday night.

Not only can our friends scrape walls, but they provide entertainment too. A wallpaper scraper juggling Peter keeps the crew entertained.
