Day 9, March 11, 2003

We're not going to show you pictures of the dining room, Karen spent the evening sanding the walls and baseboard. I helped her out some by removing phone jacks, and patching a small area in the ceiling. She's starting to think she'll never get out of that room, but tomorrow we prime!.

So what are we going to show you? The bird room! The previous owner had a large cockatoo that lived in this room. Yuck. While we like animals as well as anyone, the guano, feathers, and general mess he left were not nice. Here comes a new coat of paint!

Look at that - more paneling! This stays - for now. We are going to use this as a storage room until the upstairs is finished.
This is hard to see on the web, but the walls have a stucco like fan pattern. A really thick stucco like fan pattern. The challenge? To paint to make it clean - we'll sheet rock over it in a few months.
You lookin' at me?
I think she's just in shock to be standing in a different room than the dining room. Really, the bird room was that bad.
We taped the windows and floor,
because we were bringing out the WAGNER!
BAM! 1 hour, and one can of paint later, the room was white! Love that Wagner. I can't yet tell if it needs a second coat or not.
I went ahead and rolled the ceiling, the sprayer, while doing a fantastic job on the walls, wasn't that great overhead.

Ah, back to the kitchen. We got enough hardware cleaned up to put a couple of cabinet doors up.

The kitchen is starting to come together. This weekend we will lay a ceramic tile counter top.
