Day 10, March 12, 2003

This was fiasco day! First, I forgot the digital camera, so all I have is after pictures we took the next morning. Second, at 7.:30 PM, just when we were thinking of quitting early (8ish) Karen asked me when I was going to put the gloss coat of trim on in the kitchen. It's on, I said. It is?, she said - it doesn't feel very smooth.

Than that nasty chill ran though my veins. I ran downstairs, and checked the can of paint I had used - yup, satin finish. Needless to say, two hours later, I had the kitchen and cabinets trimmed (again!). Our (my) first screw up, and certainly not the last! Now here's the good news.

Ack, the dining room! Here's that wall again, after the scraping, filling and sanding.

And here it is with a coat of primer. Looking good!
Another before shot, of the wall behind the scraper juggler
And a morning view of the primed wall. There are a few small spots to touch up, but what a difference!
The bird room is finished! Here's a before shot of the closet door (which is slated for removal, bye the way)
And the after. The Wagner made short work of this room.

Another before shot

And the after. We even got the paneling and floor washed last night. Stick a fork in it, because this room's done! We're going to use it primarily as storage until we have the upstairs renovations complete.
