Phase III.9 Construction Continued!
Will this ever end? We say YES!
So it's been a while since we've shown you updates. Well last fall was a bust, but we're working on it again. The upstairs is fully painted, and we will be taking delivery of the floor in early March. We've found a few bad spots, and are working on getting them fixed up. (7 February, 2005) |
|
Note the beam is now stained. (7 February, 2005)
The stained glass window is working out as advertised. (7 February, 2005)
And the batrooom is really basically ready to roll. (7 February, 2005)
Now Karen finally got some film developed, and lo and behold some of these are over a year old! We'll update the other pages later, so for now, here's some work in progress pics. |
|
Putting the tile backer board on the bathroom floor.
Remember this? Here's the bare bathroom!
Cuting the opening for the stained glass window.
Sheetrock delivery, February 2004. -19 degrees Fahrenheit.
Everything came out, and went up, our stairs.
Building the bathroom arches
Taping the joints in the bathroom.
This is a little more recent, painting the shed fall 2004.
You can really see how much it needed a paint job!
Working on the stair wall. This joint was a real hassle.
And a primed upstairs. | |
working on the media closet
Karen stripping wallpaper - her favorite job.
Well that's at least one less wall to do later...
Ok
- back to the now.... |

A major accomplishment was getting the track light installed in the office area. We only have head right now, and only got that to verify the system was working. (5 March 2005)
From the "beam" side, you can see these small light heads are pretty nice. (5 March 2005).
The bathroom door, now that it's hung up for good, we pulled down and started painting. First off was the interior (bathroom side), which was primed and got a coat of gloss white. (5 March 2005)
And here's the inside door jamb. (5 March 2005).
Here's Karen's "time-out" closet - she's the only one that can fit! It still needs some more sanding and paint. (5 March 2005).
We also got the linen closet trimmed out in ceder. (5 March 2005).
Applying poly to the bathroom door. This is an old picture from last winter. (September 2005)

We paid to have our floor put down, as these guys did it in less than 8 hours. It would have taken us months. This is an old picture from last winter. (September 2005)
