Adrano, Sicily

One of the oldest settlements on the slopes of Mt. Etna, Adrano dates back to the Neolithic times and was founded by the Tyrant Dionysius in the 5th Century BC.

Adrano has a Norman Castle built during the Norman occupation of the 11th. Century that still overlooks the main town square, and that today houses a museum.

This castle is identical in its construction and style as those in Paterno and Motta San Anastasia.

Currently the castle is not available to the public.
