Castiglione di Sicilia , Sicily
This small town is dominated by the Castel Leone, now nothing but ruins, that sits on a rocky spur. The castle location has been used as an observation point since Antiquity, and even today provides great views of Mt. Etna and the town.
Located to the east of the former castle are the ruins of another fortress, this one dating back to 750 BC.
