Triple play on the Mall
Lebanon, NH
I just finished up a team tournament at the local store; 1000 pts a player for 2000 pt sides total.
Warboss Bob and da Killa Konvitz joined a new speed freek boss named Zorbag.
I fielded...
Warboss Bob (choppa/pk)
19 sluggaz with 3 BS + nob w/pk
20 grots + slaver w/ bs, choppa, squighound
16 shootaz with 3 bs
3 killa kanz with plates and bs
2 killa kanz with plates and 1 bs and 1 rokkit
1 looted lemen russ with plates and riggers
and the speed zoggers had
Warboss Zorbag (chopp/pk)
trukkboyz with bs, nob, and pk
trukkboyz with bs, nob, and bs
trukkboyz with bs, nob, and pk
tankbustaz
guntrukk with zap
1 buggy with twin linked bs
1 looted lemen russ
So my friend Zorbag, a pretty new KoS player (not new to 40k, but the orkz) wanted to team up with the Konviktz for this team tournament. Sure, I said, lets show them what orkzes can do.
We understood that one of us was the sacrificial lamb; either the Konviktz would take the brunt and let the freakz counter charge for the win, or the zoggers would tie up the weedy opponents with early charges and let the larger mobs of Konviktz sweep the field. Oddly enough, this worked in every battle.
His list is pretty fixed, as he doesn’t have that many models, and so I was able to load mine up to work as a fire magnet. Kanz were the first choice, as nothing works as well as Kanz to suck up incoming fire, and of course grots. I was going to take two large slugga mobs, but he really wanted two russes, so I took only one instead. I don’t know which would have been better, actually.
As pointed out, I had no shooty anti-armor, but he did. What I did have was the warboss powerklaw, the kans, one nob, and a tankbusta bomb on the slaver. Turned out to work ok, too.
Now, onto the field of battle!
