Triple play on the Mall
Lebanon, NH
Round 1
Opponent: beakies, and 13th. Company with Battle Sisters
Mission: The Hunted
Report:
They won deployment zone, and first turn. They took it! The table had one unique feature, a herd of Bantha that counted as stage 3 LOS blocking terrain. Each turn, we diced off on them, and the controlling player moved them 8 inches in any direction, keeping 2 inch coherency.
Ork deployment
weedy imperial deployment
Turn 1:
Orks won the Bantha move, and moved them up to block LOS on their scouts and Long Fangs. The speed freak air raid stunned the crusader, but it’s weedy armor let it still move, and move it did – 12 inches right up. Right next to it, the squad of sisters pulled up 12 inches in their rhino, dropped, and shot uselessly at my kans. My grots got snipered, and than assaulted by a pack of wolves – but despite loosing 10, the little blighters held!
the grots hold
Thanks for the free victory points!
and again!
I said thanks for the gift, and up moved my 5 kans, with the slugga boyz behind them. My freakish friend put a zzap shot into the crusader, missed, (under strength) and the tankbustas hit it again for a stun. The kans shot and shot, but only killed one sister, and than slammed into them in CC, killing 2, and the sisters broke, but barely moved, and the kans caught them , and held them in combat again. The kanz were able to also assault the land raider, and one hit on a six, and gutted the tracks out of it, leaving it immobile.
Stomp, Stomp, Stomp!
hmm...apparently this one wasn't covered in the Imperial Field manual for Dummies!
My lemen russ turned and pasted 4 out of 5 space wolves gray hunters who were out of cover. Zorbag moved his truck up, and counter assaulted the wolves who were feasting on my grots, and pasted the lot of ‘em in cc.
Turn 2:
They got the Banthas, and moved them up even more, blocking more of their LoS! (not a great move on their part) His terminators came out of the crusader, and assaulted the kanz, destroying one with a thunderhammer, but my kans had them nicely tied up in combat. His crusader was able to fire the assault cannon with the machine spirit, and killed two sluggaz .
Shooting wiped out the cannoness (zzap gun to the head), and than, ‘ere comes the Calvary as the sluggas, with Bob, slammed into the terminators (man, I love this part), and in a fury of choppers cut down all eight, loosing just 5 boyz in return. There is nothing like the look on a confident beakie player after he realizes you’re rolling over 60 dice to hit, and his armor save is a 4+! It’s almost as good, as when that’s done, you than say – oh yeah, I have another 6 attacks from the Warboss, and another 5 from the nob! In this case, I used the choppas on both Bob and the nob, as I didn’t want to lose attacks from model removal, and that panned out pretty well. His chaplin stuck it in though, and took another wound from being out numbered. Bye the way, we had chose his terminators as the hunted unit and he chose my sluggaz. Too bad for him :yes
Kind of hard to see, but there were 8 assault terminators, and a chaplin here at one time...
Turn 3:
They had the Banthas again, and didn’t do too much with them. The sisters, broken from the kanz (again) rallied, and moved back towards their lines, beaten and down.
Zorbags russ eliminated one sniper squad, and the kanz moved forward, and caught and killed the sisters. The chaplin lasted about two seconds, putting two wounds on Bob, but eating powerklaw for lunch.
Ork forces meet up in the middle
Combined fire took out some random wolves, and Zorbag got caught short in a hand to hand combat with the Wolf Lord, going down. He was avenged by the nob, who in the next turn powerklawed the dog to goo.
Turn 4.
The devastators killed a boy with las cannon, and our units slid out to shoot back (this would be last turn), killing three of them, as well as 2 more scouts.
At the end of the battle, they had an immobilized crusader, 3 of 6 scouts, 1 of 6 scouts, a rhino, and 2 of 5 long fangs.
Results:
Massive victory for the orks!
Bob: Oi! Zorbag, dat dog krumped ya gud!
Zorbag: Aye, but me ladz gotz da zogger, and da dok gave me dis new deluxe-kickin' leg!
