The Choppa'
Completed

Based on an Imperial Guard sentinel, I added a tube frame scratch built from plasticard tubes
Keeping with the looted them, I changed the aspect of the sentinel engine, and despite being a rescue helicopter, what ork wouldn't want a trusty big shoota?
Next up was the tail mechanism, and a drive shaft running from the engine to the transfer case in the back.
The main rotor shaft is topped with a rare earth magnet.
Next up was the pilot. I cut the legs from the riding fantasy sprue boss up pretty severely.
and wedged them in the weedy 'oomie cockpit.
I also cut down the torso, shaving off the rounded part that normally fits in the legs.
With the pilot in place, I added the bottom landing skids
and a couple of gurney platforms.
Greenstuff time - the pilot got his head, and some GS straps, and I added gs welds all along the tube frame.
The main rotor was cut from plasticard, and shaped by hand.
According to the second edition codex, the glyph for body is the simple triangle, so this rig gets one.
Thanks to the magnet, the rotor is 100% removable for transport.
primed | |
and painted. | |
