Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii
We spent the morning at the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and also visited the USS Missouri. Due to the large number of pictures, the rest of our trip to the islands can be found in the two links below.
- Waikiki Beach
- Snorkeling in Hanama Bay (coming soon)
Having had the opportunity to visit the Omaha Beaches in Normandy, France, it was nice to get the opportunity to take a look at the pacific side of the war memorials. While not quite as moving as Omaha Beach, it is still well worth the visit. The Arizona memorial is free, and you need to watch a video first before the boat ferries you out to the memorial. The video is well done, based on all period films.
Enjoy the pics!
