The last Waaaagh!
So this is it – an end, some would say, to an era. After 10 years, Games Workshop has brought out what I feel is a substandard effort of a codex, one that trades not only the effectiveness of the existing army for dubious reasons, but as I would argue, the orkieness of the list too boot. As a result, Warboss Bobz Killa Konviktz, are finished, as I have no desire to convert or use this army with the new rules.
Many sectors of the universe felt the blow of the Konviktz in the past decade, Konvikt looted armor, gargantz, and choppa wielding boyz have smashed aside countless imperial, alien, and ork (upstart) armies. In the end the Konviktz Waaagh caused concern and fear among those that heard it. It seemed sad to let it go quietly, but fortunately my local gameshop, Triple Play on the Mall, was holding a 1500 point tournament.
I would have preferred a larger point limit, as this was to be a final showing, it meant fielding models that I wanted to field, more than ones that were effective, and a larger list would have let me bring more of each. Regardless, a few models made the short list.
So not a really effective battlefield army, but so be it.
Game 1 VS Blood Angels
A basic table quarters and victory points battle, this one resulted pretty much as I had expected my army to perform – I was wiped out by turn 5. I had attempted a hard center deployment and a fast sweep around the right flank, but his Baal Predator turned out to be devastating, accounting for the tankbustaz (before they could fire) and both trukks and their passengers. Da Kr00zAda was destroyed, killing most of the scarboyz. In the end his character and death company waded easily through Bob and the remaining scarz, and poor Gooba was gunned down by melta guns. Not a pleasant way to start the day.
Result: Massive victory, Blood Angels

Game 2 VS Blood Angels
A different player than the last one, and a different army breakdown. The mission was objective (loot counter) based, and he won table edge and first turn. His army was interesting in that he had two speeders, and all of his troops had jump packs. His lack of long range shooting would hurt him, as I was able to move up and neutralize both speeders basically on turn one, and than it became a close combat swirl.
The scarboyz and Bob disembarked, and wiped out an assault squad, but failed by an inch to reach the death company that was behind them. The resulting assault wiped out the scars, and forced Bob, with one wound to flee for his life. Once exposed from CC though, the remainder of the death company was cut down by massed rokkit fire from the buggies and Goobaz’ kustom slugga.
On the other side of the table the grots were wiped out by another assault squad, which then blew into the tankbustaz. Fortunately in terrain, the tankbustaz suffered 5 casualties but held on long enough for a mob of trukkaz to join in; they finished off the assault squad, and saved the last two tankbustaz from certain death.
His Chaplain assaulted and destroyed the Kr00zAda, which allowed Bob to rally. In a fitting moment of gaming history, his Chaplain than assaulted Bob, and after all of his attacks, managed to wound Bob once. With only one wound left, it all came down to Bob’s invulnerable save, which he passed! Swinging back with his mighty claw, Bob wounded the Chaplain three times, which the Chaplain also saved, all three! Our hoots and hollers drew a lot of attention, but we had no idea of what would happen next.
Gooba disembarked from the Wrecka, and before joining the assault on the Chaplain, checked one of the loot markes. Lo and behold , it was booby trapped, and the resulting explosion left Gooba singed, but unharmed. As the smoke cleared, he saw Bob’z head rolling oddly on the ground. “Now wotz dat lazy zogger up to now?” he wondered, and than he realized the booby trapped had had an effect after all. “ Oops.”
The booby traps were activated on a roll of a 1 (which Gooba got), and resulted in a str 3 hit, partial models under the template were hit. Well the Chaplain was missed, but Bob got hit, got wounded, and failed his 3+ armor save. What, are the odds! And what a way to go!
In the end, the Chaplain got rokkited to death, and the game was over.

Game 3 VS Armored Company
Great, my last game, and up against an old foe who’s bested me a number of times with his accursed tanks, and me with an oddball list. Oh well. WAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!
The mission wasn’t important, (it was suicide squad, I nominated my grots, of course) getting to grips was. He went first, and tanks shuffled around a bit, killing some grots a few tankbustaz in the ruins. His beautiful forgeworld tank destroyer hit the battlewagon squarely, and ricocheted neatly off of a piece of polished cookwear that one of Goobaz oilerz had put on after the last battle. The orks roared – Up yerz GW! - as the famous extra armor plates did their job.
It was clear on this one, sitting back against all these russes was not a good idea. I moved up the trukks and buggies full speed, and the battlewagon as well, and immediately unloaded bob and the scarboyz right in front of two demolishers. Gooba rode his out, as did the trukkboyz.
The demolishers rolled up,and blasted away, killing a few boyz, but they held. The Wrecka got wiped out, and one buggy went down, but other than that, we were in good shape.
One trukk rolled up and unloaded, assaulting the tank destroyer, smashing it’s main weapon. The other one did the same, and the trukkboyz assaulted the IG tank commander russ, stunning it. The two remaining buggies rolled through a damaged building, and stunned another russ with a side shot. Finally Bob separated from the scars, and they charged the demolisher in the building, which Bob destroyed with his claw. The sponson weapons killed another couple of ork though, leaving just two scarboyz.
His tanks backed up, except for the two demolishers, one which rolled on top of the wrecka. A demolisher cannon shell deviated off, but the second one hit bob square – I held my breath as his cybork body did it’s job again! The remaining scarboy was killed though, but the Nob held on. The trukkaz next to the tank destroyer were rocked by an incoming battle cannon round that killed 6 of them, but they held on (thanks to big horns).
Those trukkaz continued to assault the tank destroyer, and the other squad went again after the commander’s tank, stunning and immobilizing . The rokkit buggy got behind a russ, and destroyed the battle cannon. The grots, tankbustaz, and gooba and the scarboynob, who he joined with, assaulted one of the remaining demolishers while Bob went after the other; when the smoke cleared both imperial tanks were in ruins.
After this time it was moot, the trukkaz destroyed the commanders tank, and leapt frogged to assault the two remaining ones, which were also hammered by tankbusta , buggy, and big shoota fire.
